In her work with Fleishman-Hillard, one of the nation’s largest public relations, public affairs and marketing communications firms, Agnes Schafer-Kreiser provides a wealth of experience in communications and marketing to her Fleishman clients.
Prior to joining the firm’s Kansas City office, she was vice president of communications and public relations for Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), the Kansas City-based dairy cooperative that markets billions of pounds of milk annually on behalf of its 18,000 dairy farmer member-owners in 48 states. At DFA, she oversaw the strategic development and implementation of all communications programs that govern corporate relations and PR, member communications, media relations, publications, Internet content, and corporate identity programs.
She has been involved in public relations and communications work for more than two decades. She earlier served as corporate relations manager for Milk Marketing Inc., one of the cooperatives that founded DFA in 1998. In that capacity, she chaired the team of professional communicators who were commissioned by their farmer boards to create integrated programs to inform members and employees about the consolidation.
Throughout the career, Schafer has worked in a variety of capacities, from newspaper editor for an agri news publication in Ohio to her present capacity at Fleishman. Schafer, who holds a journalism and English degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., grew up on a northern Indiana dairy farm.
