Speaker Biography:

Karla Harvill is director of internal communications for Pilgrim’s Pride, one of the largest chicken companies in this nation and Mexico. She formerly was public relations manager with Gold Kist Inc., prior to its acquisition by Pilgrim’s Pride

In addition to her duties at Pilgrim’s Pride, Harvill serves as a member of the adjunct faculty at Kennesaw State University and Mercer University, teaching public relations and public speaking courses.

A native of East Tennessee, she has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee and a MBA in marketing from Kennesaw State University. She is currently treasurer of the Georgia PRSA Chapter. She has chaired of the National Chicken Council’s Communications Committee and was on the board of directors of the Cooperative Communicators Association for six years and served as CCA president in 1999.
